A New Chapter
Dolly Orr along with her late husband Harold were the founders and driving force behind Orrion Farms for more than three decades. In 2016, we decided to continue the Orrion Farms legacy and add a new chapter.
Our first and easiest decision was to keep the invaluable staff as they have all been working for the farm for over 15 years. We have found that they are the most loyal, hardworking and knowledgeable folks you’d ever want to meet; they are true assets.
A Special Place
Orrion Farms is a sprawling property of over 150 acres located 90 minutes from Seattle in Ellensburg, Washington. The Farm is unique in every element - from the world-class equestrian center to the natural beauty of the Cascade Mountains and the regal backdrop of Manastash Ridge. Since 1984, Orrion Farms has been a true landmark in the international Arabian horse world. It is the source of some of the most successful show and breeding horses, including the legendary sire RSD Dark Victory as well as National Champions GA Honisuckle Rose and OFW Magic Wan.
The horses with the OFW (Orrion Farms Washington) prefix are known around the world for their beauty, quality, athletic ability and their wonderfully kind, gentle character. In addition, OFW horses are known for their intellect and trainability; they have been shown with great success in both halter and performance divisions. Orrion-bred horses are highly valued for their classic Arabian type and are sought after by breeders worldwide.
We are excited to continue the Orrion Farms tradition and have the amazing opportunity to start a breeding program from scratch. We are patient and thoughtful when it comes to our breeding strategy and this gives us a chance to find outstanding broodmares and search for special horses that will continue the Farm’s rich breeding tradition. We are off to a great start as a few of our recently purchased fillies and mares have won championships at US Regionals, Scottsdale, Vegas, The US Egyptian Event, The Brazilian Nationals and National Breeders Finals. We are excited to welcome 18 foals in 2018, cementing our near-term goal of breeding the next line of champion Arabian horses.
